While not the 'Charger' Victorys first bike has been ridden.
If you remember it was quietly announced a few months back that the first model to come from Victory's purchase of e-bike manufacturer Brammo, would be a re-badged Brammo Empulse.
For 2016 the name changes to Victory Empulse TT (evoking Victorys rostrum finish at this years Isle of Man TT) but really it's the same bike save for some polish, new instrumentation and some new paint and bodywork. Mechanically little has changed beyond a 10% battery capacity increase.
Cycle World had an opportunity to ride the bike not long ago, and unfortunately they still note many of the same problems the older Brammos exhibited. Namely, they're noisy and the gearbox sucks.
While they do acknowledge that the Victory is a jump forward from the Brammo there is still plenty of work to put in. All in all, we can't wait for the Charger to eventually show up...
If those issues aren't worked out by time the Charger comes to market, I might have to wait it out. In no rush to get it, but if it comes to market in ideal condition...i'll be ready to sign off on one.
